This year’s Martin Luther King, Jr. “Drum Major Awards” Luncheon keynote speaker is the Honorable Judge Shauna Graves-Robertson a native of Utah.

Judge Graves-Robertson graduated from Arizona State University with Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, and went to on to receive a Masters of Arts in Public Administration. In 1990 Judge Graves-Robertson received her Jurist Doctorate from the University of Utah College of law. Judge Graves-Robertson is a former Director for the Utah State Office of Black Affairs; she has served as a Law Clerk for the Office of the Attorney General; the Salt Lake Legal Defender Association; as corporate trainer, and in her current position as a Salt Lake County Justice Court Judge.

In 2005 The Utah Martin Luther King Commission was honored to have Judge Graves-Robinson represent them at the opening of the 2005 legislative session.

Judge Graves-Robertson gave an inspirational and moving speech, leading to a standing ovation and an official request from Senate President John Valentine for the transcript of her speech to be given to members of the Utah State Senate. The Utah Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission is excited and honored to have Judge Grave-Robertson as our keynote speaker for this year’s “Drum Major Awards” Luncheon.
