Two Utah Students Among America’s Field Trip Awardees

This month, America250 Utah and its national partner, America250, the nonpartisan entity planning the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, announced the winners of its inaugural America’s Field Trip awards. Two Lehi students, Kate F. and Guard F., earned awards.

America’s Field Trip is a nationwide scholastic contest encouraging students to reflect on what America means to them. Thousands of students from across the country submitted essays responding to the prompt “What does America mean to you?” Out of those submissions, 75 were named first-place awardees, and 75 were selected as second-place awardees.

As the winner of a first-place award for her essay, Kate F. chose from nine available experiences to travel to Washington D.C. for tours at the National Archives and the Library of Congress.  As a second-place award winner, Guard F. received a $500 cash award for his video submission.
